Established in 1999 the Vermont Dance Team’s mission is to give serious students of dance the opportunity to gain performing experience by taking part in acclaimed dance competitions and performing in local, regional communities as well as in more distant cities.

The Team has gained local and regional recognition throughout New England and has performed in Rutland, New York, Boston, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Beyond focusing on competing in dance competitions, an important goal of the Dance Team is to bring free dance performances to communities and give those who may not have the chance to see such a show a special entertainment opportunity. This includes nursing homes, senior centers, children’s hospitals, churches, benefit & charity events including United Way, Health & Awareness, and Vital Organ Donations.

The Teams have been invited to appear at the opening performance of one of the Boston Celtic Basketball Games, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade as well as local televised talent shows and to perform their award-winning dances at several state fairs. In addition the Vermont Dance Team members have wonderful performing and competitive experiences. They are also given the opportunity to go to New York City during the summer months to take master classes with famous, world renowned instructors at the Broadway Dance Center and Steps. While visiting New York, dancers can see a Broadway show, a professional ballet, are exposed to a little city culture, eat at the Carnegie Deli and sample real New York cheesecake. They are lucky enough to even get a few autographs of stage personalities. In short the Vermont Dance Team gives its performers a sense of accomplishment and experiences of a life time!
